Asda Pet Insurance Will Help Cover Veterinary Expenses
Asda pet insurance is very cost effective. For only £4.17 a month for cats and £6.81 for dogs, you can insure your pet and reduce the worry of veterinary expenses.
In cases of emergency due to an accident or illness, Asda Pet Insurance covers X-rays, medicines, surgery and nursing care that may be necessary to help your pet recover. Should your pet pass away, Asda even offers bereavement counseling. They understand the significance of the loss of a beloved pet. Plus, if you apply for coverage over the phone, they offer a 10% discount for multiple pets.
Asda offers three different types of policies, Value, Standard and Superior. The prices listed in the first paragraph are averages and are for the Value policy. As with any insurance policy, fees are calculated on an individual basis. When you apply for a policy, they ask for some basic information such as your pet's breed, your pet's date of birth, the amount you paid for your pet/donation fee and your pet's vaccinations and yearly booster information.
Asda covers vet fees on a per condition basis, so as long as your payments are up to date and your policy is in effect, each visit to the veterinarian is covered up to £1,500 for a 12 month period for the Value policy, £3,500 for the Standard and £6,000 for the Superior. All of the policies cover death from illness or accident, theft or straying, overseas travel, quarantine costs and emergency expenses abroad to varying degrees based on the policy you choose.
Asda pet insurance policies also allow for excesses such as third party liability (should your dog or cat injure another person). In the case of a pet dog injuring a third party, there is a £100 deductable. Asda has the ability to place a claim over the phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Asda pet insurance is more for the "ifs" in life as it excludes coverage for pre existing conditions, routine examinations, vaccinations and preventative care. But Asda is not alone in this policy limitation, these restrictions often hold true (if not always hold true) for medical insurance policies in the human world as well, so don't take it personally. You will also see that with each year that you renew your policy, the rates will go up. This often happens in human medicine as well because as we age, more things can go wrong and it will cost more to care for potentially increasing maladies. Asda offers coverage for cats and dogs over the age of 8 weeks, and a pet cat over 11 years old or a pet dog over 9 years old no longer qualifies for death benefits.
It is because we never know what awaits us around the corner that we have insurance in the first place. Our pets are our friends, our companions, our family and an integral part of our lives. We love them and they love us unreservedly. Preparing for the worst by getting pet insurance from Asda may be what it takes to insure the health of our endearing pets.
